removing the foglight blanks

I was thinking, since i dont have any foglights right now, why not remove the plastic "blanks" that fill the holes in the bumper. From lookin at the backside of the bumper it seems that you could easily cut this part out and cover the hole with mesh from the backside. Im sure someone has already done this so im probably being redundant. but anyway, HAS anyone done this? Im planning on installing some mesh from behind the bumper so i might do this while im at it, i was just wondering if it came out decent for anyone that tried it.

i did it. i actually cut out that little thing with the slits out first, and then decided to just cut the whole piece out all the way to the edge. i stuck some black mesh in there and it looks pretty sweet.

i used my dremel to cut it out and then just sanded it down with some rough and then very fine sandpaper. really easy mod IMO.

I Installed mesh the other day using the DIY bumper removal. I took the blanks out with a box cutter blade. It was a heavy duty one like the one you use on sheet rock. Once you get it starte=d it cuts like butter. But be carefulk it slipped out on me twice. But iwas in a rush. Just take your time with it it was a piece of cake i'm 17 i just got my civic 2 months ago. If i could do it I'm sure you could.

If you have problems putting in the mesh...

I drilled 3 small holes into the sides of the foglight cut outs. Then strung some wire through the holes and attached the mesh. You can't see the wires at all. It looks great.

GOOD LUCK

I agree with the mesh...I am planning on doing the same thing, and then maybe mounting some fogs behind there, I already have a mesh grill installed in the lower grill and I painted mine yellow, looks sweet on a EBP!!!
