Piping
I know this has been talked about a million times but i went 2 day 2 get an estimate on how much it would cost 2 get my exchaust put on my car. The guy said it was 50 bucks and i siad how that cheap. He said ya well we are ganna use ur piping and just put the exchaust on it ur piping. I asked him if it would be a deep tone not like a loud weed wacker tone tone he said no. But does anyone know what size piping are cars come with and do u guys think i should get a custome pipe done like a new custom 2" pipe or 2.25" piping cuz i have never done this be4 so i want 2 do it right. All ur help is much apprciated.
2" 2 1/4"....depends on what you want...the more open the exhaust flow the slower the take off and the better the top end, the smaller the piping the more chance of a lowering top end and increasing the bottom....getting the right back pressure is a pain....your neither right or wrong. just a 1/4" difference isn't that bad. Its just pesonal perference. I would definitly replace the factory piping though way to liable for exhaust leaks. Stainless steel from header back and a ceramic header my preference.
agreed it is preferance but if you get bigger piping make sure you do it all way from the header back . dont make it bigger after the Cat because that means you taking the cheap way out plus it will not make much of a differenace if your flariing from 2.25 to 2.5 or three inch instead of running the same size all the way down . I know this sounds crazy but I have seen it done
