Firestone = Poo

I took my car into Firestone two weeks ago to get an alignment. Well it seems they didn't tighten the lugnuts enough because Friday I was driving and it started shaking. Then I started losing control the car was drifting allover the road and no matter which direction I turned the wheel it didn't respond. I was approaching an intersection. By the time I got to the intersection I had slowed down enoough that the car started respond a little. I managed to turn to the right and as I did, the tire came flying out and rolled accross the street into the Chevron car wash. I managed to pull the car off the road. I got out of the car and I was in shock. The back half of the front fender was ripped completly off.

Firestone is supposed to be coming today to pick up my car. It's sitting in my front yard right now. I look at and I want to cry. They obviouslly made some attempt to tighten them because I wouldn't have made it around the block if the were only finger tight.

Wow, you could have very easily been killed if that happened on the highway. They owe you all repair costs, as well as rental costs for a substitute car. Have you considered some kind of legal action?

It's not enough that they have crappy tires, but now their service is crappy too?

If I was you, I would talk to a lawyer. You might be able to get some money out of that deal!

That is scary a guy I was in school with they went on a baseball tournament down in Fresno, CA and someone tried to steal their wheels during the night and they were driving down the interstate and the tire came flying off. Also their vehicle got busted in the night before they drove and their equipment was stolen out of the vehicle. So yeah have to watch out.

Sorry to hear of what happened.

Nick

I feel for you dude...first, Firestone can't make a tire without it blowing up and now they can't even tighten the lug nuts correctly? What can they do right?

I do not even understand why Honda decided to put Firestone tires on the Civic. I also dont understand why people even purchase Firstones, everything they make is $hit. They only decent tires they "make" are the ones which use Bridgestone technology and are of Bridgestone design.

Wow, I'm glad youre alright. That happened to me in my first car, werent firestones, but I know your deal with the tire flying off. Scary as hell. Mine was my front driver side, all of a sudden I feel shaking and then BAM! the front of the car drops down and i see my wheel flyin past.
Definitely can get some money outta that. Good luck.

hmm, I'm going on some long distance drives in the next few weeks, I hope I don't have any problems with my tires...Also, I think it's time to invest in some new tires I don't want to get in an accident because of those damn things!
