Hey, I also drive a DX, I've already done it...you can see it on my member's ride....it's very easy...any questions...feel free to ask me, either here or PM...and to answer what was asked before...yes, the mileage will read the one on the new cluster...if you get a new cluster, it will read 0 miles, if you get an used one, like I did it will read the last mileage registered...I got mine with a bit more miles than mine, so all I did, was to check the exact mileage it has, then, swap it when the mileage was exact...but that was just me...you can either get a LX or EX gauge cluster, but the EX one will have the ABS light ON forever, so you should cover the LED, by covering it with something just behind the gauge face...

Hey I also want to have an EX in my DX.

When I heard that it resets the miliage, I said forget it; but it sounds like you(anibal) found a work around.

The main reason is so that I have a tac. I am sick of driving stick with out one.

Any info would be great.

if all you want is a tach, then just change the cluster to an LX, it has a tach. as i understand it, the EX has a higher redline than the DX/LX so if you switch the clusters with an EX you might run the risk of forgetting where your red line is and phucking up your engine if you redline too much. just my $0.02.
is there anything else on the EX cluster that isnt on the DX that makes you want to swap? i dont know...

Pyro: From what I recall, there is a differance with the tach part on the gauges...the ex has a higher redline...?

Well come to think of it, there isn't anything special about an EX over a DX for me. I just want the tac.

I sopose that DX has a tac cluster and a non-tac cluster - right?

It's hard to almost redline at every shift if you don't have a tac.

Is anibal going to share?

sorry for the delay...just what you really want to know??? I got it off Ebay...but there's more places where you could get it...
My car RPM cuts off at 7000rpm...which is fine, about 200rpm past the redline....
The only thing about the EX clsuter is the ABS LED light...since we don't have ABS, it will be on forever...so to not see it on everytime, I just covered behind the gauge faces, so it's not noticed. The cluster is pug n'play...just have to take the DX one and plug the LX or EX one...just 2 plugs...the whole process is just 5 screws(2 for the cluster cover, 3 for the cluster), 2 clips of the cluster cover and 2 plugs...no big deal....just be careful when taking out the clips of the cluster cover..
here's a pic of my cluster at night...the ABS light was covered...it's suposed to be to the left of the SRS light...and also included a link to my ride, there's a pic of the cluster during day...
Any question you may have...PM me or reply...

OH yeah can you also order the tach with a certain milage? Probably not right? And also when you remove the two screws for the gauge plastic cover, did you just pull out the black plastic cover and the same with the clear cover? thanks

So did you make a deal with the guy to keep the cluster till it was at "xxxxx" milage and then he/she sent it to you?

NO, the black cover comes out alone, the clips are a bit hard to pull, so be carefull no to break it, the clear palstic is part of the cluster...
NO deal...when he was selling the cluster, he specified the mileage it reads, and because mine had lower miles than his, I just bought it and waited until my mileage matched the new cluster. most people on Ebay that sells them apecify the mileage, sometimes it's a bit unaccurate, but close to the mileage they specify...

I have an LX guage cluster if anyone is interested in it. I'll let it go without hurting you too bad. It is out of a sedan, its an automatic, and the milage reading is 34,500 miles. Let me know if anyone is interested. Email me at Turtle.

I wonder that same thing, if the K20A if posibble it will be nice to also have the RSX cluster...more accurate and cool readings...
Hey, Turtle's offer is very good, much more cheaper than buying a new one, and that's a whole cluster with everything you need...don't let him go...

My OD is currently on 3,000 something, so I got a ways to go to catch up to 35,000. I wonder if I will even have the car that long.......

i had to change my ex/si cluster since i am really stupid and grounded the dimmer wire while installing my stereo. no fuses blew! cheap a$$ honda integrated the dimmer switch with the entire dash assembly and i had to replace the whole thing.
anyway, here in canada the sedan cluster is a very light silver, almost white. i was considering a swap but didn't do it. apparently the sedan cluster is in more sub pieces but it still fits. i'm sure the swap will work the other way.

as i was told, keep in mind that clusters are slighly different from 2001 and 2002.

total cost to swap = $600.
mileage reset to 0 = $3,000 savings

thats the only way i'll justify this charge to myself!

If anyone is still interested in the cluster, Ill let it go for $75 shipped. Dont look upon the higher miles as being bad. The only time you would affected by it is if you went if for waranty work and to get it inspected. When you do this just put the factory one back in and youll have your original miles and those will actually be lower than the miles on the car itself.

can't you just play around with the miles and change them to your miles? I know someone with a leased explorer that they keep rolling back to stay under their lease agreement..
