Walmart oil change failure
Walmart oil change failure
After a lot of work, my son got his car on the road. Back registration paid, new tires, replaced transmission, some misc repairs.
1st things first, let's get an oil change. Wal-Mart forgot to put oil back in it
About 200 miles later and we have a blown engine.
Walmart accepted responsibility but only offered $1,000.
Should we rebuild or replace the engine?
Thanks and F* Walmart.

Re: Walmart oil change failure
oh my goodness. I would've made them pay for the new engine and install, regardless of price. more reasons I only trust 5 people under the hood of my car. Maybe some of the mod staff, also, but I've never met them IRL
Re: Walmart oil change failure
Walmart has their own in-house liability department that is basically insurance. We were on hold for 5 hours one day. They suck

Man, that sucks. Sounds like an absolute nightmare to deal with.
Best of luck with whatever you plan to do to fix it. Replace would definitely be the best course of action. Not a difficult job, provided you have the equipment. I was able to do that with a $200 har or freight engine hoist/engine cradle set (I did a bottom end swap in my 2002). Was a couple days work, but that was because I was absolutely meticulous about making sure everything was clean and assembled correctly, especially considering I completely disassembled the block. The block had been sitting, covered with a tarp outside for quite some time. It would've been much less time if I just up and swapped in an engine
