2010 LX Poor Gas Mileage
2010 LX Poor Gas Mileage
Purchased my civic a year ago & I'm getting 26-27 mpg out of it when it should be getting 36. It's a freeway commuter with 60+ travel miles one way. Odometer is at 87,000. Put new tires on it & monitor the psi, had the O2 sensor checked & replaced, valves were adjusted, & transmission fluid flushed. Nothing has changed except occassionally I get a whiff of atf. Any ideas?

Re: 2010 LX Poor Gas Mileage
Driving styles largely affects MPG.
if 2010 do not have the MPG display, get a OBDII connector and use your phone to monitor MPG.
Like, when driving downhill, if you release the gas pedal completely in gear, it will show 9999 MPG, because the fuel injection will completely cut off the fuel. If you touch the pedal, fuel will be injected.
This is one of my ways to save fuel. If there is no need, I won't use the fuel.
