Power Steering cutting out
Power Steering cutting out
Good day comrades,
Currently experiencing a weird issue with my 2003, 4 door, 5 speed manual civic.
Recently up here we had a 7 day cold snap of temperatures dipping down to -52 degrees Celsius (-61 F for you American folks). After this cold snap a new problem emerged on my vehicle. When turning going forward or backward at low speeds (and only at low speeds), I find the steering locks up and becomes stiff to turn intermittently (Still able to turn the wheel but it is much stiffer). Once I straighten the wheel the stiffness goes away.
Thoughts?

At minus 52 C I would stiffen up too!
Seriously, you should have fresh Honda PS fluid filled to the Max line the reservoir. Bleed air from the system. Any contamination or water in the system can affect performance.
After the car has warmed up, you should feel the PS retunr to normal.
