Question 2004 civic auto to manual swap wiring problem [solved]

The swap is complete with only wiring issues in the way. I have tried various wiring methods, but I'm unable to get it running. I'm using the automatic harness and ECU. I'm totally stumped, any help would be very much appreciated!!!

Here I extended conductor 7 and 10 from Connector D in the fuse box. I tried grounding conductor 10 and running conductor 7 to the clutch pedal safety switch, and from the safety switch to ground. Won't start...

Here I tried hooking up the selector switch from the auto tranny to the wiring harness. Car weakly reves over 2 or 3 times, instrument cluster goes dim, and then nothing...

Also tried leaving the automatic shifter hooked up

Auto ecu:

So right now your using the auto ecu, until the manual is coded right?

You need to ground the connection, for the under dash fuse box, for the park selector, so the car thinks it's always in park. You also need to push the brake pedal down while starting (just like usual while starting an auto; you can also wire the brake pedal so it always thinks its pressed).

....

Manual ecu

If you already have the manual ecu in, and had it reprogrammed ti match your ignition/key then all that is needed is to trick the car into thinking the clutch is depressed. (Not 100%, but I think it's the same wiring that goes to the brake pedal for auto)

Do some tests and see if the pedal while depressed is open or closed switch.

If closed, just bridge the wires and remove the switch

If open just unplug the switch.

"...Now what ur going to do is, is go up under the dash on the drivers side. Ur gonna want to locate the fuse box. There's a 10mm bolt and unbolt it so the fuse box will move down to where u can access towards the top. Next, your going to want to locate connector D. If i recall it's located in the middle on the 2nd row from the top. Don't quote me on that one. Once u find this connector, pull it out. Then locate pin 7 (Lt. Green) and pin 10 (Blue/Black). Come out from the fuse box a little and cut both of them. Now what your going to want to do is put the connectors with a loop on the end on all 4 so u can run a bolt thru them. Find urself a grounding point, and ground all 4 wires out at the same point. Just do this so u don't ground out the half of the wires as i did and didn't discover for 6 months...."

This is from Bryan's diy (link bellow), which I used.

If you see the park P light up then you should be good to go.

Make sure your battery is charged, try jumping it.

re: 2004 civic auto to manual swap wiring problem [solved]

I'm new to the Civic world but I currently just did a manual transmission swap from an automatic and everything that's indicated in this forum is correct I'm only having one problem with it the wiring issue for some reason the parking light is not coming on like everybody else says it should everything runs on my car perfectly I'm just having one issue I don't know if it's my throwout bearing my pressure plate the flywheel or the clutch itself but it is making a very weird noise also I do not need to touch the brake or the clutch to start my vehicle it is a 2004 Honda Civic EX coupe and I am just trying to get rid of the p0936 code but I don't know if that is possible to where I did the swap with a automatic transmission ECU and automatic harness I'm just trying to figure out how to bypass this so my check engine light goes out other than that everything else passes this is the only code I'm having a problem with I got every other code out by rewiring the harness if anybody wants to know that wiring diagram please feel free to ask that way every single code is out on your transmission except for the p0936 every other code is clear if you have any information to do that please let me know and I will be glad to help anybody else out there that is having the issue of trying to clear their codes from doing the swap with an automatic harness and automatic ECU to a manual transmission swap thank you have a wonderful day guys your friend in Maine Jesse James

Re: 2004 civic auto to manual swap wiring problem [solved]

im having wiring issue after manual swap. Please help. I’m using manual ECU which started my car before swap. I am using the manual engine harness. I’m also using the manual wiring on the the inside of the car to conntrol the clutch switches. When I turn the key nothing happens. If I leave the key in position two and bump the starter the car cranks and starts and runs
