Re: Brand

Any name brand oil will be fine.
I usually grab whatever is on sale.
Don't use the super cheap no name oil

Re: oil Brand

The best oils are only needed for high horse power engines to control burning due to extreme temperature swings and ranges.

But in no particular order (the synthetic versions of)

-Mobil 1
-Pennzoil
-Total
-Redline
-Castrol

Really though any oil which is API approved will do, even the lessor brands.

I've put in Valvoline "high mileage" oil, Quaker State, Pennzoil, even Walmart's former brand Tech2000 (I think that's what it was called) (all conventional 5W30), never noticed any difference, so I just put in whatever I can get on sale.

I would only go for synthetic if as above you have high hp (especially turbocharged) engine and/or live in extremely cold or hot climate

Re: oil Brand

Whatever is on sale. Amazon Basics oil is suppose to be a great deal and on par with the more basic Mobile One synthetic's.

I use Redline in my GTI but that is way overkill for older gen Civic.
