Civic sport hatch CVT Ktuner concerns
Civic sport hatch CVT Ktuner concerns
Hey everyone I’m new here, I was just wondering if I were to ktune my CVT sport hatch what would my CVT hold up or would I have some issues? I’ve looked all over the internet and found nothing. Pls any help would be appreciated. Plus with the Ktuner can I go back to stock tune and would the dealer ship know anything if I did that?? Thank you!!

Re: Civic sport hatch CVT Ktuner concerns
they have had CVT's for a while, including CR-V's (way heavier), but too early to tell about long term durability, I have to say. Want to be our guinea pig?
Early adopters are the guinea pigs, you know?
(That's the truth in life, don't take this personally. New techs involves testing, and they will not know until it is more widespread. Sometimes things does not goes as planned.)

Re: Civic sport hatch CVT Ktuner concerns
My research tells me that ktuner has been safe for the CVT, as long as you stick to the true 16.5psi, +3 or +6 tunes.
You know that guinea pig is gonna be me
I've been eyeing the ktunver v1.2 for a minute now. Prolly tax return time
Actually, with the ktuner and hondata tuners, they can be used right out of the box. OEM exhaust on the Sport and Si trims is a non-limiting factor. Intake is really only necessary if you want noise. Internals are strong enough (though, Si rods are beefier than non-Si) to handle the +6psi basemap on the CVT and +9 basemap on the 6MT

If so, what are your supporting mods?

Re: Civic sport hatch CVT Ktuner concerns
boost control on the civic x is all electronic. KTuner takes care of it all: increasing boost pressure, adjusting fuel maps for safe power, all by using what's installed from factory.
