DIY trim finally done...
geez... after about an hour of wrestling with the center console to pull it out, i started the painting process... first the 2 coats of primer then sanded down.... then about 3 coats of plasti kote...... i wonder if i should throw a clear coat on there.... there was some other dood that wanted to put a clear coat... i guess he ended up not doing it because he didn't want the glossy look... anyways... has anyone put a clear coat on their trim peice and if so do you have any pics??? if you didn't what would you think about having a shiny red center console??
I did all the trim in my car in a low gloss silver to match the factory trim around the shifter. It turned out great, but soon I'm going to clear coat it to give it a smoother glossier appearance.
Hey iamboo if you ever need any help with takeing apart your car I can give you step by step instructions...I have a 2001 civic service manual which tells me anything and everything about removing and installing...just thought I would throw that in there though I am not saying that you didnt use one or didnt know what you are doing just sounds like you had a hard time. later
