Exhaust Manifold Gasket Orientation?

Gasket has a couple of layers of thin steel. One side is raised around the openings. Does the raised side go to the head or manifold? Thanks kevin

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gasket Orientation?

If it fits either direction and there are no markings telling which way to install it, then I'd say it doesn't matter. I'd probably put the raised side against the manifold.
