Save the eg 93!

Hey, so unfortunately i was cut off and the car is out of action atm.... but i 100% don't trust whats going on. 1. because i'm a woman and have no reason to trust random mechanics, better yet random smash repairers.. and 2. this **** doesn't make sense.

So i was driving along n then A GUY COMES OUT OF NOWHERE AND CUTS ME OFF nek minit tow truck. What i know is broken is about 5 exterior things that aren't important and the power steering resovior.. the body was barely bent and the engine bay looks absolutely fine (besides that resovior, which is nothing).

so i ring in to go make sure that i can tamper with the car to see what needs replacing and they give me the old 'dall, you're engine has flooded theres no repairing that, just give up' (KEEP IN MIND HE JUST LIED TO ME AND TRIED GAINING MY TRUST BY CALLING ME DALL) and I'm all like wtf did you do to make it flood... and even if it did flood, thats repairable.

nek minit i go down there myself (with my trusted mechanic) and the engine wasn't even flooded, but we did take a look at it and the car sounded like the compression was f*****.

Does this sound 100% suss to other people too? or like can a crash that didn't even bend the body actually damage my engine...

Re: Save the eg 93!

Welcome.
You are far away from me, like half a planet away LOL

Was it running and operable immediately after the crash?

I guess figure out why it lost compression, if that's what actually happened.

Did the crash push something (motor mount, frame, body) into the timing belt area and snap it or make it jump time? Remove the oil cap, watch the visible valvetrain parts while your partner cranks it. Do the parts move at all?

Did the coolant get dumped (radiator broke, hose split. etc.) and engine overheated?

How could it be flooded?

"Just give up" sounds to me like someone may want your car more than you do, and may be willing to sabotage it to make you want to give it up so they can obtain it 'dirt cheap'. Hope that isn't true, but with some people you never know.
