Instrument Cluster

Hey i have a 98 Civic DX as my DD...and i don't want to spend the money to get an EX Cluster. My cousin has JUST the RPM Gauge where the temp gauge is on the DX Clusters.....can I just swap the rpm gauge for my temp gauge???? and the same goes for the gas/temp gauge on the other side where just my fuel is?...I Changed the bulbs back there with LED bulbs a few months back, but i honestly don't know if they are plug and play in that Manner. If anyone knows send me a PM or just post and we can get this thread closed quickly....Thanks

Re: Instrument Cluster

I'm gonna take a wildass guess and say it won't work because the circuit board probably doesn't support a tach or moving the fuel/temp gauges in the DX.

If you had the whole complete EX cluster to swap it might work.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing about the circuit board not being compatible....but yeah the 6th Gens are plug and play with the cluster...i know if i had a WHOLE EX cluster it would would even if its auto or manual. Thanks for the input.

Re: Instrument Cluster

Just go to a junk yard and pull one off a civic or crv. I put one in my sister's civic for the rpm gauge and cost me 15$. You can swap your mileage/mph part over to keep the same miles or roll the other one over(never done it)
