98 Civic Ex alternator + ECU

Ive been having problems with dimming headlights and low power on all accessories due to my sub-woofers and was considering a higher output alternator. However, my system only draws 800rms and im not sure if the electrical system should be struggling so much.

Someone told me that the ECU may be limiting the alternator output because it ignores aftermarket accessories. Is this true? and if so, is there anyway to fix it?

Thanks!

Edit: Also, i have done the big 3

Re: 98 Civic Ex alternator + ECU

Could be normal for the car. PCM controls alternator charging, it can turn the alternator rate high or low as it sees fit for fuel economy.

Search for how to bypass the ELD.
