Hit a giant rock on the highway, what could be broken?

So a truck driving in front of me on the highway dropped a massive rock right in front of me and I had no choice put to run over it. It made a big bang and then broke apart under my car.

Now my car sounds really deep and hollow when I step on the gas, and when I go over any bump, the rear rattles/clunks pretty loudly, like it sounds like something is loose or is going to fall off.

Everything looks fine from what I can see from the outside so I'm not quite sure where it hit under my car exactly. I'm planning on taking it to the shop to get it checked out, but wanted an idea on the possibilities of what could be broken.

I have a manual 2001 civic lx coupe.

Thanks!

You want us to guess?

Um.... I'll take 'what is my exhaust system' for $200 Alex.

seriously....If it drives fine and sounds horrible most likely some part of the exhaust system took the bullet.

I'm sorry, I just thought someone here might have known more than me because I don't know anything and don't want to be ripped off at a shop, so I decided to ask. Would the exhaust issues explain the clunking?

Buy a couple of jackstands and use your stock jack to prop up the passenger side of your car (do chock the other rear wheel with a chock or 2x4). Look under, see truth.

Your exhaust is really the only thing under the car that would make that type of sound change. Very likely damaged the exhaust manifold, cat, or muffler. The cat would be the only really expensive part.
Make sure there is no damage to the oil or tranny pan. Also check the suspension parts.

Take it to a Honda dealer for oil change for $25 with coupon. They will do free inspection. They will make an estimate of $1000-5000 repairs and will write this on your work order copy sheet. Ask them if you can see what needs repair. Go see with them while car is on hoist. say "no thanks" and grab the paper. Drive out and then read the paper later. You will most likely find out what's wrong and get Honda oil change for free.

Got a license number or truck identification?

Call your insurance agent.
This is one reason why you have insurance.
Ask if your policy covers this.
