removed resonator.. could bad things happen?
as the title says, i took out my intake resonator. i love the noise it makes now. sounds more beefy to me. and i know i lost some low end torque, but i dont care. it sounds cool anyhoo, since i took it out, is there a higher chance of something getting sucked into the intake, such as water/pebbles/dirt/etc? or would the filter in the filter box stop it?

The filter should stop it.....
Aftermaret intake filters are exposed alot, no water or anyhting gets into them. (CAI so low you might need a bypass....due to submerge.)
but w/ how far up in the engine bay the stock box is,....you should be fine,.....

Yeah Hotek, you should be fine.
I had mine like that for about 2 months before I bought my intake, and nothing bad ever happened.
Did you take everything off except for the black box on top of the throttle body?
Because that's really the only part you need to keep on because it houses the filter.

Nothing is going to happen. It's purpose in being there is to reduce the noise and I think the restriction aids in torque production but not sure. Nothing is going to get through that paper oem filter.

haha thanx bobby.lol well i love the sound. i duno why some people dont like it. sounds like i have a muffler installed. thats wat some guy came up to me n asked.. he goes "hey dude, do you have some muffler installed? cuz all i see is just a tip..." lol
time to save up for the Injen SRI
is that one of those pocket dyno test things that never gives a reliable reading and is completely full of it?
if it is, did you realize that if the wind shifts you get a different reading? going uphill or down? time of day? how much you weigh? bumps in teh road?

thats why you test it on a track where there is no pot holes of course dont do it in the rain
or somthing and why would you test it going up hill when you track time you
find the a clear road.... i do cuz i live by DINWIDDIE, PETERSBURG, VA

The G-tech also requires it to be mounted perpendicular to the windshield. As for curb weight, just go to a weigh scale and see what your car is exactly. I dynoed my car and it came out to 106HP at the wheels. Considering my car is a LX with a AEM CAI and a Magnaflow catback, it is quite reasonable(I would think 104HP more reasonable but my average came to 106). As for 0-60 times, my car runs 8.47 seconds. So, I think it's accurate enough as long as you take an average of everything. I always throw out the quickest and slowest readings.
