1991 civic hatch steering wheel will not unlock??? what the heck?
I am working on a 1991 Honda civic 1.5L hatch for a friend of mine.
I Im having a problem where I can not get the steering column / ignition switch to unlock. Has anyone had this problem? I'm trying to find a wiring diagram for the switch.
Yes It is the correct key

Have you tried rocking the steering wheel back and forth a little to get the lock to release? They are very touchy in those years of Honda. Mine can be a real pain sometimes.

I have tried shaking the wheel back and forth They key will not turn. I found some cut wires next to the brake pedal. I'm wondering of that has something to do with it. I had replaced the ignition switch wiring and noticed there are 2 wires coming in and going out of the ignition switch (metal part with key) dose anyone have a wiring diagram for this?
Also I have shaken the crap out of this steering wheel back and forth and It will not unlock no matter what? I'm wondering what are these 2 wires going into and coming out of the ignition switch doing?

If you can't turn the key, you have a physical/mechanical problem not electrical.

Alright then i guess I should need to replace the ignition lock cylinder. How the heck do I get it off of the steering column? It dose not look like it unbolts?

They use breakaway bolts. Once installed and tightened, the heads of the bolts snap off to make it theft resistant. You have to get them to unscrew using manual means.
I use a center punch and hammer whenever possible, beat the heads in the counterclockwise direction to force it to unscrew. If there isn't enough room to do this, then I have to come up with something else.
some might use a dremel to cut a screwdriver slot in the head,
some might try to drill the heads off.
Grab a service manual and look it up.
Or Google for how-to's.
The cylinder is supposed to have a release pin you push after getting the cylinder to turn to position "I". If you can't get it to turn, I guess you need to get the whole thing off the column and either take it to a lock shop and see if they can fix it or replace the whole thing.

If you can get the original fixed, you need a pair of new bolts to put it back together, about $2 each for # 35102-SV4-003

I may have to do the same thing to remove the TPS on my 1991 civic and I've purchased a suitable screw extractor for the job. It was easy to fine here and the correct drill size is given with the extractor. Might work for you.. good luck.
