TB rotor on AT car question
Hi all, hoping someone here might be able to help with this.
Disclaimer: I know a manual is better, I wish I could still have one, as I really miss my old one.
Car is also used by a family member who is physically incapable of operating a manual, the whole reason I bought this auto in the first place.
So, swapping to manual is not an option.
Doing the MPFI swap on a B2, and I bought a Z6 manifold/TB off someone, with the understanding that it was from an AT model.
By the time it arrived I was too busy to work on the project, so just did a cursory inspection for damage and put it aside.
Now that I'm ready to go again, I noticed that it's not from an auto after all.
My fault, should have checked better, and don't think it was an intentional thing on the seller's part.
Anyway, since the TB rotor isn't available from the dealer, and all the aftermarket ones are for MT, I'm wondering if anyone knows if the relationship between the throttle cable travel and the kickdown cable travel is 1:1 or not? It appears to be 1:1 on the DPFI TB, but not sure if that follows to the MPFI or not.
Looks like my options are either to make my own rotor, or try and source an AT TB. (again)
Have all the tools/materials/skills to make it, but I can't find a decent pic anywhere, and the factory diagrams don't really show it either.
If anyone has any knowledge about the travel ratio, or has an AT Z6, I'd be really grateful for a closeup pic (squarely from the side) showing the TB rotor.

I'd use the original TB as a guide (or use it for the parts needed).....See how it drives, then tweak it later on if necessary.

I did manage to find something that helps a bit, 360 flyaround view of the BBK TB at Summit, fortunately it has the AT rotor mounted. Doesn't appear to be 1:1 after all: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bbk-1547 I was really hoping to avoid doing anything to the DPFI TB until it was time to actually swap, but I might have to try and remove the rotor for some measurements. It's a different size/shape/orientation than the MPFI one, so can't just swap that rotor to the new TB.

Sadly, it seems like most places on there won't ship outside the US, though.

If that's a bigger bore throttle body (sure looks like that one is) then you WOULD want the trans cable pull altered, as that one probably is.
A stock sized throttle body would be much more likely to have the 1:1 ratio.

You're absolutely right, I was so focused on getting a good view of the rotor, didn't even think about that. It is, indeed, a bigger bore - 14mm larger. Thanks for that!
