05 Honda Civic EX Steering Wheel Shimmy?
05 Honda Civic EX Steering Wheel Shimmy?
I have a 2005 Honda Civic EX and when I accelerate to about 40mph I get a shimmy in the steering wheel. When I back off on the gas the shimmy goes away and the car acts fine. Would this most likely be a problem with the inner/outer tie rods, ball joint or control arm bushings? I have jacked up the car and did the 12 and 6 o'clock push pull test and could not identify any play. I also did the 3 and 9 push pull test and although I cannot detect any play I can hear a slight clicking but cannot pin point where it is coming from.

I can't say for certain, but do keep it in mind.

Have you gone under and checked your inner and outer CV boots for tears or leaks?
