2008 Civic Check Engine Light

Good afternoon! I have a 2008 Civic EX 5 spd. I have a constant check engine light now. A few days before coming on it says check fuel cap. I purchased a new fuel cap thinking it would fix it. It did not. Light was reset and then it came back again. Still reading the original small vapor leak detected. Anyone with a similar Civic had this problem?

Yay! Joy! I have the small vapor leak reading. I've seen this is common with 2008 Civics. Thanks for the reply. Anyone else had this problem?

Code P0456?
Find Honda service bulletin 08-013. (I did not find it on a quick Google search.)
Maybe try ALLDATAdiy.com, or your local library. Many libraries have access to Alldata and/or Mitchell service information.

The bulletin tells about the EVAP purge valve as a possible cause.
Gives VIN ranges of affected vehicles
Tells how to inspect it and properly diagnose it.
Tells how to replace it if it is actually found to be bad.
