O2 Sensor '03 Honda Civic EX

So I need to change the front O2 sensor on my civic but I haven't been able to get a confirmation whether it's located on the top or bottom of my engine. Can anyone send me a diagram or picture on where it's located? My car is starting to put-put and it's getting really annoying.......

Jack up the car, it's just after where your downpipe makes the 90-ish degree bend

Re: O2 Sensor '03 Honda Civic EX

do not splice the wires when installing those O2 sensors. Use only Denso Oxygen sensors direct fit. Speaking from experience installing all different brand O2 sensors in exactly the same 2003 Honda Civic Ex car.

Re: O2 Sensor '03 Honda Civic EX

I'm having issues after replacing both O2 sensors on my 03 EX. I resettle computer with my OBD2 computer but the check engine light comes back on with the same error code. Any thoughts??

The front 02 sensor is at the bottom of the motor. The wiring harness runs along a cross member behind the engine fan.

The Brand of sensors was Bosch
The code was P0141

I had the sensor tested and they determined it was a bad sensor. So I took it back and got a new one. Reset the computer and the light came right back on. I am wondering if it is the catalyst converter?

The Brand of sensors was Bosch
Problem solved, wrong sensor. Bosch = German, Honda = Jap.

Go get the right sensor, as in, NTK or Denso. Go to the Denso website and find the right sensor using the vehicle selection tool!

Re: O2 Sensor '03 Honda Civic EX

The Brand of sensors was Bosch
Throw away the Bosch sensors.

Get the correct DENSO or NTK sensors, whichever brand came in it from the factory.

The front 02 sensor is at the bottom of the motor.

The code was P0141

I had the sensor tested and they determined it was a bad sensor. So I took it back and got a new one. Reset the computer and the light came right back on.
P0141 has nothing to do with the front O2 sensor.

P0141 is for the REAR O2 sensor, "a problem in the heater circuit" to be exact..

Again, use the correct brands of sensors.

I am wondering if it is the catalyst converter?
That would be code P0420.
