I had a 93ex vtec for my first car and unfortunately had to part with it. Im now looking at getting another civic and found an 02si for about 3k. Anybody know of any mechanical issues with the 02 that would make it so cheap or is it sound mechanically like most everything honda is?

to make it as low as 3k, something happened. engine have timing chain, so not likely a broken valves, though, but something happened to the car or was done to it. go with care, but you might have lucked out though. or you live in a place that they get really cheap or everyone wants a truck and the fella can't sell it :P

Went to look at it while holding my reservations. Driver door covered in surface rust and peeling paint. Front bumper banged around, missing paint and a flasher just hanging from the wires out of its mount hole. Clutch is shot, so new clutch, flywheel, and throwout bearing are needed. Needs new tires. Has a cracked headlight and to top it all off it needs a new head. Dude wouldnt budge off 3k. Looks like i'm stuck in this grampa looking malibu for another day.
