What is this wire i found it unplugged and nowhere to plug it in?

I found this cord behind my valve cover today and it isnt plugged into anything. Someone tried to tell me it is vtec and that i need to get it wired to the harness but im almost sure it isnt. In this picture it is the blue wire with the grey connecter. My d17 and does not have the vtec selenoid as shown in the picture. It only has that blue wire and it isnt connected to anything. Please let me know what this wire is. thanks

In the picture, that is indeed the pigtail for the VTEC solenoid.
