Question Help Me Please, I'm Such a Nube!

So... I have my Truck on CL to trade. This guy hits me up with a '98 Civic Ex Coupe, with the D16y8 VTEC. Nice Car, kept clean. Havent' driving it yet, it has about 170K. Even in "Fair" condition, my truck is still worth more. I've been wanting to get into things, start playing with tuners, and I was wondering is this a good starting point? Is this engine decent/anygood? I hear alot of things about motor swaps, but for starters is this ok. Or is there maybe another model/engine i should be on the lookout for? PLEASE HELP! Thanks

Dont do it, your truck is likely faster. The car will only be fast with a motor swap. If your will to put in the work to get a H22 or GSR motor in there, yeah its a great starting point. But i would hold off for a Civic Si if you dont wana be dog **** slow and be labeled as a "ricer." Look for a 95-99 Neon DOHC, thats also a good starting point. I had a 99 R/T as my first car. Now i have a 04 Accord V6 6-speed MT for play, and a 02 Civic LX 5-speed for winter/work. Youll get there eventually
