Swapping out Factory Installed "Bass Speaker System" question.

I've tried looking on the forum to see if there is an answer to my question, but I can't seem to find it. I apologize if it does exist, but I'll ask anyways. So I want to put in my old Dual subwoofer in the back, but I noticed there is a factory installed amp called "Bass Speaker System" that the previous owner had the dealership install. It sucks terribly, to be honest, and I thought there was no added bass to begin with.

I did notice that there is a wiring harness already plugged into it though. Can I just take the wiring harness that's already plugged into the factory amp and plug it into my Duals? It would make it a ton easier, and I wouldn't have to pull apart the dash. All that I would have to do is run a power cord from the battery to the subs, and ground the system, if I'm not mistaken. Let me know if there are any holes in my theory. Thanks!

Re: Swapping out Factory Installed "Bass Speaker System" question.

What is the RMS rating of the factory amp? It is probably not enough to power your subs. If the factory amp can not supply enough power to your Dual sub then the amp will burn up from being over worked. If the factory amp can supply sufficent power then all you will need to do is connect the positive and negative speaker wires from the factory amp to the sub. The factory amp may just be a bass boost for the factory speakers and won't be able to supply the power or correct frequency response for your subs.
