Whats wrong with my 2001 Honda Civic?
My husband was driving my 2001 Honda Civic EX 5 speed manual transmission and all of a sudden it wouldnt accelerate over 20-25 mph. The engine was still revving, the RPMs still going, and he said the clutch felt like it still had pressure, but it wasnt accelerating. I just replaced the throttle cable, and I need to replace the radiator hose, and the CV axel. I was wondering, however, if anyone has had this problem, and how much is would be to buy the parts so I could fix it myself?

Might be time for a clutch job.

Did you replace the throttle cable before or after this started happening. If before, check for binding. If not then it really sounds like the clutch is slipping.
Re: Whats wrong with my 2001 Honda Civic?
I replaced the throttle cable yesterday. The throttle cable had come loose causing us to lose all power to the car and not able to accelerate at all, but we can still drive it now, so I didnt think about the throttle cable. Thanks for the advice, I will be sure to check the cable for any "kinks" and make sure its nothing that easily fixable before I start on the clutch.
