2001 Honda Civic LX Coupe Passenger Power Window
2001 Honda Civic LX Coupe Passenger Power Window
Hi,
My passenger window isn't working. I've tried replacing the master switch (bought 2 from ebay), replaced the regulator and window motor, tested the passenger switch by putting a multimeter to the wires connected to the motor and it shows 12v. I've checked all the fuses, which are still good. And it still doesn't work.
I didn't replace the passenger window switch as I'm getting 12v when I switch it up or down.
I've searched multiple forums/threads for solutions and I'm out of ideas.
Can someone please help?

Disconnect the motor and apply 12 volts directly to the motor leads and see if the window operates. Use a length of lamp cord and go to the battery, you may have to reverse polarity for down operation.

Hook a test light to the 12v output. Sometimes I find you can have a 12 volt signal but no actual power, has happened to me before.

I've ran tests directly to the motor and it works. I was able to make the window go up and down.
I'll try a test light to the 12v output. What did you do when you weren't getting actual power to the 12v?

Re: 2001 Honda Civic LX Coupe Passenger Power Window
If I have to be honest I never figured it out. It was with a third brake light on an older car. I ended up getting rid of the car without fixing it. If it is your case hopefully someone can help you.
Re: 2001 Honda Civic LX Coupe Passenger Power Window
Just in case anyone was wondering or if this can help others later. The issue was the connector that goes to the master power window switch. It seems to be a bad connector. I don't have it fully plugged in and now my passenger window works. Too lazy to replace the connector but the windows work.
