How to install Power Windows? 2001 Civic DX Coupe
Hello, I apologize if there is another thread similar to this but I've been searching the entire forum but I just couldn't find a helpful thread regarding this.
I was wondering if there's a DIY for this as well but I just couldn't find it.
I found a 2002 Honda Civic EX Coupe at a nearby Auto Wrecking center and I saw that the door panel linings and powered regulators are still intact. Since I was already there I thought maybe I should take this opportunity to take parts needed to replace my roll up windows to powered ones but I'm kindof unsure if it's possible. If it is then what parts should I take out from that donor car?
Questions are:
Do I need to replace both driver side and passenger side entire door panel linings if I want to use OEM power window regulators?
Is it better to use those OEM powered window regulators or is it better to just use Universal Power Window kits with their own switches?
What is the most correct way to wire them and make it work?
The things that bother me is how to mount those switches.. How to wire correctly.. and does the window glass mount perfectly on both manual and powered regulators or those universal power kits?
Help please, I'd really like to make this work.
Here is a honda parts link to my vehicles exact model catalog & diagrams:

There is a DIY here but it is for a universial kit... I do not know the answer to most of your questions and for that i am sorry..the wiring should be about the same for the OEM stuff and this DIY... I hope it helps..

For your wiring go to your local parts store and get a Haynes manual for the 01-05 civic. I have one and it has all the wiring info you would need along with how to take everything apart.
