well... a few of you already know about the accident i had last friday... anyways, i wen't down to the dealership today to get the car they lended me and at the same time i took some pics. The estimate of the damages isn't in yet but i'll probably get it later today or tomorrow.

both airbags came out...




windshield is cracked all over...

i'm hoping it's a write off... but in order to have one there has to be about 13,000 - 15,000$ worth of damage

Mine was a write off and it didn't have the engine damage you had. Mine was intacted, but just body damage. I'm pretty sure you'll get one. The frame looks pretty messed. The airbags alone are 5 g's already.

airbags are 3 g's... they often write off the cars when they're a bit older, but this one was a new car, and if they write if off i'm gona get a brand new car that's the same value as that one when it was new, which on paper is about 22g's plus tax. and right now the value of the car is like 19 g's. anyways, i've heard that if the damage is 20% less than the value of the car they'll most likely fix it...

That looks pretty bad Freddy, I'm pretty sure it's a write off too. Were you able to salvage any of your mods?

well i haven't started salvaging cause it hasn't been declared a write off yet... but as soon as it is... i think it's obvious that my CAI is gone... as well as both my grills, plus the dash kit and tinted windows would be hard to take off that car and put it on a new one... But i think i'd be able to save my strut bar (not sure), tail lights seem ok! and JVC deck is ok too! i think that's about covers it all!

oh yeah! my firby that was hanging on my rear view mirror is alive and well! thank goodness!!

here's what i heard happens when a car is a write off... the car becomes the property of the insurance company so it's pretty hard to get pieces out of the car. Although i'll be able to get my tail lights and radio cause i still have the original pieces, but i'll see what i can do. But there would also be the shipping cost to TO. btw, why do you need that?

he he... well, if i'm able to put my dashkit into a new car i will... sorry! but i doubt i'll be able, cause it's stuck on there pretty well, taking if off might damage it. If not i'll have to get another one...

nah, no one was hurt. although my wrists are burned because when the air bags came out they scraped big pieces of skin off... who'd of thought you could get second degree burns from the airbags!
