install window channel run honda civic 2001
install window channel run honda civic 2001
I am trying to install the window channel run (Part Number B 13--on the very left--on this image http://parts.sonshonda.com/images/pa...ize/971566.png). Is the a DIY??? It seemed simple, but now I'm not so sure! I'm having issues with the ends of the channel run extending into the door itself. Do I have to remove the door to install the window channel run? Thanks!

The reason I want to replace this part is because the one I have now is defective and is interfering with the ability of the window to scroll up. Yes, the window is able to scroll up. However, it is starting to make a noise as it scrolls up, and I am afraid the window engine-thing is going to break.

Do you have the new insert in place yet, or still the old one ??
For the noise check that your rubber insert is properly in place in the lower metal channels. If it is an old insert you might try cleaning real well upper and lower and give it a try.

The issue is the channel run is interfering with the window scrolling up. I can see the channel run getting in the way of the window. It is not a fixable problem, as the channel run is badly misshapen.

Both the 7th and 8th gen manuals show the "glass run channel" but neither shows a procedure for replacement.
I would say it just gets pressed into place.
