1991 Civic DX won't start after messing with fuses
Hi,
I'm new to this forum but I've got an urgent problem on my hands, and I start a driving job in a couple days so I'm frantically trying to repair my car before then.
The car in question is a 1991 Civic DX. For reasons I don't need to get into, I opened up the fuse panel under the steering wheel and started pulling out and replacing fuses while the car was on, trying to disable the heating/cooling fan. I've now learned the hard way that this is extremely stupid (I'm a complete layman with anything automotive).
I pulled out fuse 16 (10 amp) and there was a spark, and my engine shut off. I replaced the fuse, but now when I try to turn on the car, it will turn over but it won't start. When I spray starter fluid into the engine it sounds like it's almost going to start but never does. The spark plugs do not spark, so I replaced the igniter but the situation is exactly the same.
I haven't been able to find any fuse diagram for my car, so I don't even know what fuse 16 does. I've swapped the fuse to no avail.
If anyone can help me out here, I'd be eternally grateful. I really need to get my car running ASAP.
Thanks so much for reading and for any advice!

Re: 1991 Civic DX won't start after messing with fuses
I can't really say much as of now as I'm about to go to bed, but check out the 5th gen Civic manual in my sig. Keep it as a reference. I'm sure one of the more knowledgeable members will be able to give you somewhere to start. Why were you trying to disable your fan in the first place? Did you make sure to replace the fuse with one of the same amperage? Did you make sure THAT fuse wasn't blown as well? Maybe you pulled the fuel pump fuse. I think mine is a 10 amp as well. Don't know the number though. I just have a clear piece of plastic with what goes where.
