Looking for 1.5 drop spring or coilover with tokico blue
Looking for 1.5 drop spring or coilover with tokico blue
I already have tokico blue and wanted to drop my ride around 1.5 inch. Should I go with coilover or springs? I want a even drop. Anyone have any recomendation?

if you have the $$, GC adjustable coils. You will need a corner weighting (that's why they are adjustable, actually, not for dropping, but whatever). and alignment
springs if you don't have $$ and live with small differences in height. and alignment

I looked at tein s tech but I heard they sag in the back and they give a smooth not bouncy ride. Would Ground control coilover be waste of $ for a 1.5 drop?

Eibach Sportlines are another option as opposed to the prokit. I think prokit is 1 inch and sportlines are 1.4 (I think). I have blues + sportlines and there are pics in the suspension sticky if you want to see what it looks like

Does the Eibach Sportlines sag? 1.4 is fine with me. Hows the ride? Is it like stock or bouncy? Do you think it will rub on 215/45 17 ?
Re: Looking for 1.5 drop spring or coilover with tokico blue
I've got a 2005 Civic LX with Tokico Blues, went with springs instead of the coilovers due to being tight on cash at the time. My car's dropped about 1.5 with Eiback and it rides nice and smooth. Bumpy roads are more pronounced, but that's gonna happen with almost any drop. I've taken a ride in one of my friends' Civics with coilovers though and I thought the ride was better than mine. Not too big a diff to have me run out and buy coilovers, but I might save up and go that route the next time I have to replace shocks/springs.

Which eibach spring do you have?

why are you too worried of the sag? reverse rack? Mine sagged but i simply don't mind. am not using them for looks anyway :P

As far as ride, I like it. It's definitely stiff, but not harsh. It handles a lot better. If you have back problems it might not be super fun but other than that it's pretty good.
I'm running 215/40/17s and have absolutely no rubbing so I think you'll be good to go.
Here's a pic of my car lowered for reference.

i have even drop all around with prokit and no sagging. front and rear are the same height. but i also have tokico shocks otherwise the oems will sag.
Re: Looking for 1.5 drop spring or coilover with tokico blue
Well, after a few days of researching, I finally order GC coilover with tokico blue. Reason why is that because of my 215/45 17 . Guess Ill just adjust the height accordingly. I read that tokico blue cant handle slam cars but lower it to 1.5 will be fine right? I heard somewhere on this forum that tokico blue handle up to 1.8 drop. Please correct me if Im wrong.
Also, Im getting mixed recommendation on investing in CAMBER KIT.

Tokicos will blow with drops over 1.8"

Get a camber kit!!!!!!!!! (at least get the rear for sure, front is optional) I got an SPC rear kit and I've been totally happy with it. Spend $140 for a camber kit or $400+ for new tires more often.
Even with the rear camber kit and no front camber bolts I have very slight camber wear even with an alignment.

Actually I kill the outside of the fronts if I do not correct the rear camber, but that is because I don't fear corners
Re: Looking for 1.5 drop spring or coilover with tokico blue
Okay so I have a question about the DIY camber kit. I already figure out how to install it but adjusting is the problem. Do I just put the camber kit on and take it to the alignment shop so they do the adjustment? Meaning, I put them on and those guys adjust the camber kit themselves? I dont understand.

get a camber kit if you go any lower than stock. its usually better to have the alignment shop also install the camber kit. then they can do the alignment right after. if you wait, depending how you installed it, you could mess the tires up.
Re: Looking for 1.5 drop spring or coilover with tokico blue
I'm planning on installing the camber kit then go to the shop for an alignment. Do I just tell them that I have a camber kit n tell them to adjust it? What is the correct camber for the rear anyways? I read that if you put it at 0, driving will be Shitty. Let me know. Thanks.

yeah just say you have an aftermarket camber kit and any shop (even dealer) can figure it out to get it aligned. i just had mine done when they installed new tires. i have eibach prokit 1 inch drop and tokico shocks. great, just realized they didnt give me the alignment printout lol. guess i cant tell you. you want the wheels to be straight tho for minimal wear on the tires.
