I can't decide if I want to get a SRI or the HFP axle-back. They are both around the same price (I think) but I just can't choose.
From what I have read, the axle-back is mostly for looks and doesn't really produce a much louder sound from the stock. I know it is an easy install and I know I won't have any problems with it.
On the other hand, the SRI sounds a lot better and might give me very small amounts of gain (I think). What I am concerned about is the installation, is it very difficult? I don't want to be messing with a lot of sensors that will be all messed up after the install.
Also, does anyone know if the intake goes against the warranty?
Just want some input from those who have installed or what people think about the 2. And what the best SRI is

Pfft.. The answer to this question is simple, get both!

Seriously though, installing an intake is much simpler than you might expect. Call honda to check if it'll void your warranty, but I doubt it. K&N typhoon and AEM VE intakes are two of the best, but we do really need to know your model to recommend one. The K20z3 and R18 are very different engines.

Price range; I'm trying to stay under 300$ I know i can get the axleback for around 200
I do want a good sound, any performance gains would just be a bonus because i don't think you could get any large, or noticeable gains from a SRI

I've been reading a lot about the SRI and the biggest problem seems to be heat soak. This car is just a daily driver and wont be anywhere near the track. I live in southern Ohio and the summer temps can get up to 95 and muggy, will heat soak be a problem?

SRI: Yes you will get heat soak and may actually lose performance, especially in the summer. The stock SI intake is actually very good. You can remove the resonator box to give it a better sound/very slight increase in performance. Other concern with messing with the intake is that it will jack up your A/F mixtures so most people recommend flashpro in conjuction with any changes to the intake system (throttle body, CAI, etc).

HFP axle-back: you pretty much got it right, no increase in performance really, just some added sound.

My recommendation: Save for a full cat-back.
