Best Yellow DRL's/Full Power DRL's??
Best Yellow DRL's/Full Power DRL's??
Hey guys, just wondering what my best option for yellow DRL's is..
I love the look of them, but I'm worried that due to the fact that the DRL's only run at half wattage, they won't give me a bright, nice yellow look.
I've heard that it's possible to have full power DRL's without having your headlights on, and I'm willing to try it out. But if I can find a bulb that looks yellow running at half wattage then I'll just stick with those.
So far I've come across:
Luminics JDM Yellow - http://www.luminicsbulbs.com/jdm_yellow.php
And Piaa Plasma Ion Yellow - http://www.racinglab.com/piplionyehb9.html
I have the Nokya Hyper Yellows as DRL's and don't like the colour very much.. I want a bright, crisp yellow. These just look like really gross old bulbs that have yellow'd over time lol.
Any ideas? Thanks guys

if you're trying to get your high beams (DRL's) to act as full power driving lights, the only way to do it is to rewire your car to provide full voltage to your high beams. changing the bulbs won't do anything.

the 1/2 power drl is plenty and will still be bright enough. what bulb are you using? luminics is similar to nokya but some sizes just suck for a good yellow color. the piaas are prolly the best if you want a nice golden yellow. i used to have the h3 as driving light and it was pure dark yellow.

here are some pics. they really have more of an amber coating not yellow, which is why they work so well. i dont like the bluish outer coating tho that gives the housing a blue look when turned off.

Those look pretty good. They worth the money??
And yea as much as I love the look of the yellow inside the lens when it's off, it doesn't really matter. I'd be willing to sacrifice that for a nicer yellow actually produced.

yeah its worth it if you want a real yellow color not the faded bulb look the other brands have.

Ok, thanks man.
Ps, remember that retrofit that I was talkin about a while ago?
I'll be doing it in the summer some time, and I'll take pics - before/after and light output.
