the old one was getting really weak and i noticed quite a bit of oil was leaking around the hole and turning crusty around it. it almost wouldnt seal at all and i suspect the rubber rings shrunk due to long term oil exposure. i got the new one today and altho the plastic is a bit more of a neon bright orange compared to the old, it seems to be the same thing. much better seal tho and i have to actually push on it now to seat in place. i recommend it just like the trans fluid dipstick for auto.

Kind of like the original tranny oil dipstick. hehe, had to replace mine for the engine oil and tranny oil. better fit for sure.
