Engine Compression Readings
Motor has been checked over by a garage and by me tonight. And the results are still the same. Cylinder #1,2,3,4 all have the same situation. All have zero on the gauge!
Does anyone know of all symptoms that will cause this to happen to an engine? I've spent most of the day searching with no real luck just yet.

Re: Engine Compression Readings
Seriously, zero compression at all..
The first thing I would suspect is a severely blown head gasket and a warped head, check for the other signs of a bad head gasket and that may be a clue to the problem.

bad gauge, or shop doesnt know how to compression test? thats almost impossible unless the motor is in two pieces. what exactly is the test procedure you are doing?

Re: Engine Compression Readings
If sleeve had large cracks in all four cylinders then you could have zero compression and the engine would still be in one piece, although it would be in two pieces on the inside.
First off thanks everyone to responding to my post. I'm in desperate need for advice since on limited time with my holidays.
I want to keep this car on the road since it has very low millage. I had a Honda Accord was my first car and it got to see 450.000 km or 279.617 mi. So I know this Civic has lots of life left in her.
Here is what I did the other night for the compression test.
-unplug the coil packs
-removed all spark plugs
-put the compression tester in each spark plug hole
-and cranked the engine for 5 seconds
-every time gauge was zero!
Have to tell you guys this motor does not sound good when cranking over. It's like nothing i have ever heard before. Just a straight sound carrying over. Theirs no normal cranking over for a few second when your car is about to start. It just wants to make the same dead awful sound. If you want to hear it I found one on you tube that's the same. I'll add the link soon.

Here is the same Honda engine that sounds like the Civic.
It's even titled the sound of no compression test!
Please check out the link.

I figured out why all four cylinders had no compression. My timing belt went out of time with only 31,000 mi on it. And it still has all its cogs, no rips or tears. I ended up removing the head and 4 intake, 8 exhaust valves bent. Makes perfect sense now why she would not start.
By the way anyone doing this kind of work yourself it's amazing on how much your local library can help you out with information. I got a few manuals on everything I needed. Still work continues on the Civic in the garage. Hope to get it dun this weekend.
I don't know about you guys in the U.S for purchasing parts. But here in Canada there freaking expensive! But what can you do need wheels to get to work. And my trucks costing me $120 bucks a week in gas!!

hope it gets better soon.... g'lucky this weekend on the final touches.

you, sir, deserves a rep just for that comment. I commend you for the initiative. I always buy manuals when i get a car. It's sooo rare to see guys doing this... Warms my heart, truly.

(thanks again, Kennykid2002, for the emoticons. they great to express stuff when it matters!)
yeah, that's the way i always did (if some kind of publication was available, that is, otherwise, pure will to have it done and your big friend mallet)
If you ever stranded, there also are tons of useful DIY here that are really helpful as well (I have some of them saved in my disk for when i get in a situation). Print them and have them at your side when doing some work first time.
I feel yah... taxes kills us...

Hey thanks for the great reply
I try to get as much info as I can on a vehicle when doing repairs. I find this site is great because you get so much feedback from peoples hands on experience.
I have read many post and there worth the time spent on the laptop. It's nice when its wire-less and you can sit in the Civic and read up on post lol!!
