Question Where can I go to clean my engine?

I have my EM2 04 EX SE. I'm looking at washing/cleaning the engine.

I live in California and I believe it is illegal to clean it at your house because of the oil and other contaminants that can flow into the sewer drains. Unless I'm wrong?

The engine compartment is very dusty, but it doesn't look oily or full of grime.

When cleaning what parts must I cover up and be careful to not get water on?

Where would it be legal to clean the cars engine?

I'd call around to verify or wait for another Cali member to help you out. If you can clean it, just use common sense. Cover up your electrical parts and spark plug holes if you can. That should be it. Just don't go crazy with the hose. Lol. Grab some degreaser and a soft brush. Spray the degreaser and let it soak for a little bit and brush where it needs to be brushed. Spray off the excess and wipe down where you can. If you've got a leaf blower, that works as well. Just remember to do this on a cold engine!
