95 hatch parts question
95 hatch parts question
so im getting my tax return soon and i just bought a black 95 si hatch and it could use a little help. the body is pretty clean im going to fix any damage in the spring though. i wanna make it more jdm looking but since this is my first honda i dont wanna put any stupid **** on there and make it look like a mexican car ( in the least offensive way possible). i just would like a few ideas if anyone wants.
Right now it has:
front adj coilovers (no rear yet??)
front camber kit
blue blox control arms
lowering springs in the rear
2.25" exhaust and headers ( ebay i think, but sounds good)
some REALLY REALLY crappy fog lights thats look like poop and dont even work
hi/low hid's
cf hood
short ram intake
amber turn signals
and i own a sparco racing seat but idk if i like it. (should i put it in anyways) lol
if i should change any of that let me know lol
I plan on purchasing:
cf duckbill
cf manual mirrors
new fogs
short shifter
plate re-locator
quick release steering wheel.
Sorry for one of the most rediculous posts on this forum but i dont wanna be the laughing stock of honda owners haha
thanks for any suggestions

Re: 95 hatch parts question
Usually one ongoing thread is the best way to ask questions.
I'm not personally a fan of smoked lights, because they really detract from functionality and don't look great. Your entire car is black, the headlights are a nice accent.
Definitely remove the wiper. It looks much cleaner without it, saves a few pounds and you can plug the hole with either a cheap $10 ebay plug, a rubber plug from the firewall fits perfectly but I forget the part number, or use part 16 and 20 from the link below.

Re: 95 hatch parts question
to each his own. i have never seen a civic in person with smoked headlights. i've seen taillights, they look great i think, black out and just a "sticker" so its flat, nice. i have seen cars like chrysler 300m's that have smoked headlights... looked so sick i wanted to get it done right then! but i do hear they reduce the amount of light your headlights will produce so heads up. but i plan to get my front and rear smoked soon, reguardless of the light loss. if the headlights aren't bright enough with the tint on them, you can just peel it off. i have a black civic coupe and i plan to get me heads and tails tinted along with the windows. post some pics!
oh and on the short shifter note, the rule of thumb i learned quickly was "you get what you pay for" and its true! right?

Re: 95 hatch parts question
awesome guys thanks for the input. I used to own a wrx and i tinted the lights (headlight, taillights, and fogs) it looked sick and didnt cut too much light on stock lights. My civic has i think 6000k hid's, i dont know much about hid's but they are bright as hell so i would imagine it couldnt hurt too much to have them tinted. if i do so ill deffinately post some pics. http://www.rvinyl.com/headlighttint.htm thats where i got them for my wrx. if i do it on the civic i wont be paying extra for the precut pieces though because after you heat the film up it stretches alot and you have to re cut everything anyways. just a tip for u to save a few bucks.
and also for the rear wiper i took off the blade today only but the diagram u sent will help alot with getting the motor or anything else out. thanks

Re: 95 hatch parts question
never used pre-cut headlight tint, but have used pre-cut taillight tint on my friends 97 accord. good fit, stretches a little, great price, but nearly impossible to get 100% perfect with no bubbles or creases.. when i installed it on my friends car, i took my time and did my best, but many creases around the sides where the taillight curves with the body were unable to be smoothed out even with heat and lots of time...
heres a pic of the taillights, hence the slight curve. btw i love this 97 accord coupe! personally, i would never purchase (waste my $) on pre-cut tints for headlights, taillights, or the windows of my car. not off ebay or any other web site, nor buy locally. a well known tint shop that is near by me and does great work will do my whole car, heads and tails, and sunroof for $230. rather pay the price for quality than have it look like crap, regret it, and want to redo it. but if you have had good luck with these tints more power to ya! i might just be bad at it.. just mo. i ques. i have... stupid one im sure. but what does n/a mean?

Re: 95 hatch parts question
i did alright on my old rex a few bubbles but barely noticable. mainly because of lettering and stuff on the lights. and they were a BITCH to do because the lights are very curvy on the bugeyes.
N/A means naturally aspirated, meaning all engine no turbo and whatnot
Do you guys think if i got the quick release steering wheel i should put my racing seat back in? i think it would probably look a little goofy idk i just hate that damn thing lol
