1991 Civic: Engine wont start
Engine will not start.
I successfully started the engine today three times, each time having to press the clutch in further in further in order for the engine to turn over. I just tried to start it again and no matter how hard I press the clutch in now the engine will not engage. The battery is definitely good, turn the lights on and they shine in full brightness. There's a full tank of gas.
Any tips on how to trouble shoot this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Negitive, the starter motor doesn't engage. I hear the click from turning the key, what ever that is, but the starter motor doesn't engage. It behaves as if your attempting to start the car with out releasing the clutch.
Re: 1991 Civic: Engine wont start
so your getting power but no power to the starter? well have you checked and made sure the starter is any good? Try having someone try to crank the car while you or someone takes a ratchet extension and taps on the starter enough to make it slightly arc if possible. Sounds to me like you have a faulty starter or starter wiring. Also just for laughs check your fuses.
Re: 1991 Civic: Engine wont start
Sorry for not knowing the technical names here but...
Figured out the problem. Was the little switch the clutch peddle contacts with when depressing the clutch inward to engage the starter motor. the little plate had a big hole in it and the switch that normally would have been depressed after pushing in the clutch peddle was going right through the tiny metal plate. Super glued a penny over the hole to fix the problem.
