Hot on the p r n d d3 2 1 lights

hey guys im not usally on the 8th gen forum. i noticed one night when i was driving in my dads civic that the area around the gearshift in my dads 09 civic automatic was really hot especially by the lights that indicate what gear the car is in "p r n d d3 2 1" on the console I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

I don't have an 8g Civic, but I would attribute the light to the heat created by the little lights.. those little bulbs produce quite a bit of heat

There are ducts in the console for the rear heat outlets, some have reported the plastic piping coming disconnected and heating up the console.

There is certainly more heat directly at the PRNDL letters, I checked it last night. Most likely from the illumination bulb.
