Koni strut fell through the well

well i guess it started when i went over a speed bump to fast. i had koni adjustable struts and shocks with neuspeed sport springs. when i hit the bump i heard a noise; i pulled over, opened the hood and notice the front left strut fell through into the well touching and grinding other suspenion components. i tried 2 drive it out of the way and into a parking lot and thats when the wheel tilted inside the top of the fender.. anywazzz its all fixed with oem front springs and struts; it cost me about 650.00 for everything at the dealership.
what i think what caused it is that i adjusted the koni's to stiff and instead of flexing when hitting bumps, it played like a 14" steel pipe that shot out of its well b/c it wouldnt compress.
im not spending anymore $$$$$$$ on my car till its payed off. thats when ill lease a car 2 be my daily driver.

Yeah what exactly happened? Do you have any pics of the strut after it was damaged? Peace.

it was only the strut that colapsed; there was no other damage besides the strut. i threw out the struts, but the shocks are still going 2 be on my car 4 a while.

my friend has the same issue. he forgot to put a washer on top of the strut. So basicly it was being stoped prolly by the rubber bushing on the top of the strut, shot up and hit the hood.
