ATTN Derek: Fitment of Thermal Exhaust on Auto...

I called up Thermal asking about the fitment of their exhaust on auto's (LX/DX) and they said that you have to put a bend in the pipe in order to make it fit. Where exactly is this "bend/kink" and how big is it? Do you have a pic by any chance? I totally forgot that you had the exhaust until they referred me to you...

I don't know what's up with it because I talked to Honda and they said the exhaust setup is the same. Talked with Turtle too who works at Honda, and he doesn't quite know what's going on either.

Please clue me in! Thanks man!

ya, when they first tested for fit with the exhaust, they only tested on 5spd. When I had it installed, it started knocking and found out it was hitting the tranny casing. They told me to bring it to one of their dealers near me to have to have it looked at and pictures taken and they verified the problem. They just told him to punch a dent in it so it would stop knocking until they can redie(sp?) the machines for 2" instead of 2.25". that would take care of the problem. But I have been waiting for a year for a new A-pipe.

So would the whole catback consist of 2.0" piping or just that section where it seems to be causing troubles?

not too sure right now. For me it will just be the "A" pipe.
