but anyway salvage or not as long as u can drive it to anywhere u want to go is all it matters
u can put money on it if u want but u wont make much when u sell it
civic parts are like ****** u can find them anywhere and anyone would buy it, used or new. so u wont be able to make ur money back but in the mean time it brings u to places and enjoy if u can

Re: Whats Your Opinion
Sell it.
Your car being able to get you from place to place is not all that matters, if the car is unsafe then its worthless. Lazlong's recent experiences are a perfect example of why to stay away from salvage titles.

Re: Whats Your Opinion
and as we know some are repairable and some are not,
if ur driving it and its not falling into pieces or making all sorts of noise then i dont see any problem of keeping it. if u have a buyer that wants it and the money is right then sell it, if not then keep it and drive it

Re: Whats Your Opinion
-Money, while a salvage title is worth a lot less, but I'm not really sure what your asking.
-Insurance will cost more in some areas depending on where on where you live.
-What matters, almost always a salvage title was bought for scrap/parts value at an auction by a shady dealership who proceeded to slap the car back together for as little money as possible. You might not know till your in a car accident that your car doesn't have airbags anymore or that it wasn't repaired properly. Basically, salvage titles are something to stay away from because they're dangerous. If saving money is more important than safety thats your call.

Re: Whats Your Opinion
it depends on what kind of damage it is
and as we know some are repairable and some are not,
if ur driving it and its not falling into pieces or making all sorts of noise then i dont see any problem of keeping it. if u have a buyer that wants it and the money is right then sell it, if not then keep it and drive it

the only visible damage is the front friver head light comes out a little and you see a tiny bend on the head light screws
but i want to do alot of mods like
intake radio \subs
b16a2 swap but the salvage part worries me and
couldnt i just say the car was stolen and the recovered and thats
why its a salvage because my buddy sold his si with that excuse even though it was rolled so i might just sell for 3800 cause i bought for 1500
and i put new exhaust and then put tons of new parts
Re: Whats Your Opinion
everything is fine new rear main seal and clutch all new mounts and new brakes and all control arms ball joints and sway bar

1) vehicle was damage was more than the value of the car so insurance toss it to auction and somone pick it up and restore it.
2) car was stolen and damage by the thief and again the damage was more than the value of the car so insurance listed as salvage
3)water damage and thats whats you gota worrie about
engine can ceased up that way.
and other stuff all this stuff was on top of my head, somone correct me if im wrong.
i had a front end damage and the shop never repaired my rad support
they got away with my insurance money and did a half *** job
so anyway i used brake lines off a bike and took out the bumper and wrap it around the head light mounting frame, oh and yeah head light was removed
i just yank the line till it got straight and fit the head light to see if it lined up
its not perfect but it get me through just fine till i save up enough money to have my rad support replace
about salvage. the only thing that worrie me is theft
the insurance will only give u watever amount that is in the rank of salvage
and all the parts you put in are long gone.
have a good alarm then you can move on to modding
that if theft isn't one of ur worries
Re: Whats Your Opinion
faulty sensor will caused the air bag light to come on
srs light. but considered the car at that age i wouldn't want the air bag to work
at any dealership or shop that sells car that is recovered from salvage or some sort. by law they have to make sure the air bag works before they can even sell the car

Re: Whats Your Opinion
^Ask Lazlong about that, airbags are one of the most expensive parts to replace on the car and they're easily removed after the inspection; there are also bypasses for the SRS sensor. Airbags are just an example though, what I mean is something can fail horribly, because it wasn't repaired correctly.
Re: Whats Your Opinion
I wouldnt put any extra money into it, save it incase you need to get a new car if this one wont pull through, if it becomes unsafe to drive then definitely try to get rid of it or part it out. GL
