$18,250 for the new SI
Yup...... thats what a dealer here in San Antonio, Tx is asking for them.... they have 4. Two were in the back and two were up front where everybody could see...
One was that mustard color
Other one was white
The sales guy said they actually marked them down in price because they weren't selling them like they thought..
They had those two in the front of the dealship for 10 days already......
hmmmmm...... maybe i'll trade up

I'd do it for 18250. Think about that engine. It has so much more potential then ours do. I don't think it is ugly but I do think it looks like a girls car. I was reading one of the import mags the other day in the store. They had added an intake and an exhaust or header, I can't remember, and they got another ~15hp to the wheels.
i really like them, just throw a K20A in it (7900 RPM, thats more like it!) and leave the stock transmission...that would be nice...you can just say im a sucker for any import. HASport is coming out with the motor mounts in july for our cars...you can put the K20-series in 2001-up civic...then put the RSX rear discs on it(our cars share the same platform...)you would keep up with an RSX...you would just have some get custom gauges made by someone(a graphics shop) that showed the 7900 rpm redline.

I dont know. One way I wouldnt want to give them the satisfaction and make them lower the price to a normal price. But then again thats as good a deal I have seen so far and the engine would be nice. I just dont know what to do.
18,250 and nobody's buying?? hahaha in that case they should lower the price cuz nobody wants it... that way it would be more appealing to consumers... i'm sure there are ways to talk them down to something cheaper than that... despite the fact that it's new and not too many people have it
Local Dealer here said they could let me have one for $18K. DAMN THE TEMPTATION!!!!! Those insurance rates would tear me to shreds though(they're even higher than what I pay now for my coupe)

How is 18250 not a good deal??? 19440 is sticker! Sounds like a great deal to me. My local dealer had 2 for about 2 weeks. I just went by last night and they were both gone. They were there much longer than I expected them to be. I don't think they are blowing out of the dealers because it's a hatch and not very practical to many people.

<< Man,
for 18K i would wait for an '03 jetta gl with the 180 hp turbo. Now that would be a much faster and more cheaply modifiable (chip) car. Comes with a 4-year warranty too. >>
Take a look at what that warrantly covers. Then, go and do some research on their reliability. VW's look nice and have awesome interiors but the fact is they produce a lot of lemons and you'd be lucky to get a good one.

hmm i think ur an idiot for bying a fugly si and then to have it swap out a motor. why not get a 6th gen civic and pop an itr and smoke the **** out of a 02si with a swap engine.. much cheeper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! n looks better too
It's your decision and all but I say go for it!
Take it from an owner of an 02 Si, you're gonna freakin love driving this thing around, the shifter is so awsome. Now I've never driven an Si, so I just don't know. 18k is great, I got mine for 19k and I wouldn't have payed any more.
Let us know what you decide.

<< heh...feel lucky youve never reved to 8k...just like they say about something else ill say it like this
"Once you rev to 8K, youll never go back" >>
I was reading in some magazine, like Car & Driver, not some dumb SCC, or Import Tuner.
That the new SI, even though it only revs to 6800K, has the same amount of torque as the previous SI that revs to 8K....
Now don't quote me on that.. or Flame me

>>I quoted you but I just want to clear this up. The new Si has more torque than the old one. Almost makes up for the extra weight. I am going to check around and see what kind of insurance rates I can get on one. I dunno, $18K has really got me thinking about it.

>>actually the new si has 10-20lb ft tq more than the b16a2 in the previous si...most importantly it has 30-40lb ft more torque at 2000 rpm making daily driving much easier (don't have to shift as often to get moving)...i've driven both si's and it is a big difference in the lower rpms...the vtec kick isn't as impressive in the new si b/c it has much more power down low where the older si was pretty weak until vtec kicked in...this was a big prob in the older si b/c if you used forced induction...once the race cams switched in you'd easily lose traction
