What is the purpose of the oil relief valve. Civic 2001 D17A2
Hi I have 2001 civic EX and after I replaced the Oil , now my car has some oil around the lower part of the timing belt cover and the oil pan. It is not leaking on floor or driveway. I already washed it and it came back.
I was reading the manual and the oil pump is right in lower part of the timing belt cover and it has an oil relief valve. I was wondering if the oil came from that valve and what is the purpose...(Maybe the engine was filled out with more than required?) and If now that is leaking do I need to replace it?
Is there any o-ring that I will need to replace?
Thanks,
