I have a 2000 SI and i changed my valve cover gasket and now my engine has a clanking noise coming from the cam gear side of the engine. It only makes the noise when i hit around 2500 RPMs. It Idles great but when i heard the noise i parked the car. Also i thought oil was leaking from my V-tec silonoid so i put a lil silicone gasket maker on the old gasket (and I mean a VERY thin layer i spread it on with my finger, about a millimeter thick if that). Can someone pls help?...

Also I took the cover back off and Couldnt find anything loose in the head and removed the spark plugs and they are good as new. This is the crazyiest thing i have ever seen. Nothing was dropped into the head and the noise is quite noticable and im not gonna drive the car until its gone... Anyones help would be much appreciated!

Does the clanking noise sound like a loose bolt/nut?

I had my mechanic friend check it out and it was the cam cover bolts not torqued to spec... It was just a coincidence that it started after the valve cover change.
