2002 Civic EX cranks but WILL NOT START

Hi, I am new to the forum. I have a 2002 Civic EX coupe. The car recently sat for 2 months and the battery died. I installed a good battery and now the car cranks but will not start. I hooked up a code diagnostics machine, and did not get any error codes, I guess when the battery got replaced the codes were reset? I pulled the high pressure fuel line and had quite a bit of residual pressure. I cranked the car with the fuel line in a bottle and lots of fuel gushed out so the fuel pump should be ok. I pulled two of the spark plugs, and they are bone dry, which leads me to believe that the injectors are not firing? I am thinking that something is not triggering the ignition and injection system? Could it be one of the sensors? Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 2002 Civic EX cranks but WILL NOT START

it could be a number of things:
battery terminals loose or corroded
leaking fuel injectors
faulty fuel pump
faulty pressure regulator
fuel not reaching the fuel rail
ignition components damaged or wet
sparkpugs may be faulty
faulty ignition coil disconnected wires
maybe even your timing

i would suggest purchasing a haynes manual for troubleshooting as it could be manny things..i would start with the simple things like checking and cleaning battery terminals to spending 20 or 30 bucks on new plugs, wires etc.....
hope this helps

No, not really. The car cranks fine, so the battery and terminals are ok. Although I have not checked fuel pressure, I know the pump is at least working, and pumping strong. When I checked the plugs, they were DRY, so I know the injectors are not firing. SO the ECU is not seeing a trigger. I am thinking that its a cam sensor, or crank sensor, ECU, mabey a relay, or ground. I'm just not familiar with these cars and need a little direction.

Have you checked the crank sensor? or cam sensor?

No, I have not. I don't have an FSM yet, so I can't really tell where they are. I can see something plugged into the timing cover maybe thats the cam sensor?
