How fast is the acceleration on Cruise Control?

I was on the freeway and I decied to put on the cruise contorl set at 65mph, and sometimes there will be traffic in the front and I would turn it off, but whenever there isn't any, I turn it back up, and I could feel myself getting push by as the car went from 40 stright to 65. I don't know if the computer floor the car but I just wanted to know how fast does it accelerate .

ps. maybe we can get a better 1/4 mile time by setting cruise control JK.

I'm not sure on the specifics either, but I know what you're sayin', happened to me to! I take trips often to Dallas and have to drive 125+ miles of interstate and highway, so I use the cruise. Damn sunday drivers force me to have to call off the cruise until I can pass, but when I do and accellerate . . . WHOA, feels like it's close to bein' floored <.<! Let's get some REPLIES!!

Nah, I don't think it gives you WOT. It probably feels faster since you're not doing the accelerating. Kind of an unexpected thing when the computer accelerates for you.

heres why...

get in your car, put it in neutral, take your foot off the brake, and rev the motor.... feel yourself nautrally leaning forward... you're body is ready to compensate for acceleration... but when cruise control is accelerating your body isn't quite ready for it

yeah, thats it

Not sure if it actualyl floors it, but it used to sometimes in the del sol, I don't use cruise on this car, but on the sol you could physically watch the pedal move down to the floor on the hill you were going up. Peace.

Of course it's gonna feel like it's being floored going up a hill... the engine and the computer have to push hard to get to and keep it at the mph you set on the cruise going up. I find it easier to accel myself then resume my cruise after I'm back up to the mph I want.

ok, when you're driving the car on a flat surface, and you hold the gas at the same level the whole time, you're only going to go so fast. the cruise control holds the gas at that level, so if you're at like 50 and it's set on 65, it's not going to feel nearly as hard as going 30 and having it set at 65. and when you're using the little buttons to accelerate, the longer you're holding the button, the harder it's going to accelerate.
