sanding

i know this isnt about civics or imports but i dont like the mucel car crowed(if you want to flam me go head i dont care as long as some one answers). me and my dad are starting his 69 camaro ss wich has been in pices in our garage since 79. we need to sand off all the old primer and re prime it. any one that has done this can you segest what grit paper to uses.

Use a block sander or a dual action sander and 320 grit. Follow up with 400 by hand.

strat heavy and work your way up. i personally would start in teh 200s LIGHTLY and work my way up to 600. but the new coat of paint sticking is a real big concern, so i dunno. i really only have experience painting fiberglass, not metal.

but stripping paint, id start rough and finish fine.
